2026 Events:
Open Day – Saturday 25th April 2026 (1pm-4pm)
Want to have a quick go at archery? Or want to know more information about taking up archery? Come join us at our Open Day 🙂 This will be held at our Firle site and is free of charge! Poster to follow shortly.
Archery GB Beginner’s Safety Course
This course will be run by AGB coaches under AGB regulations. Coaches may be assisted by volunteers who will all be registered with AGB.
Group 1 – Saturday 30th May & Saturday 6th June
Group 2 – Sunday 31st May & Sunday 7th May
Applicants will be asked to choose ONE of the two groups (not both and not one date from each!) as preference. Sessions will run from 10am – 4pm and are £60 per person for the 2 sessions. Minimum age is 8 years old. All under 18’s MUST have a parent/guardian in attendance. More details and forms to follow! Or come and see us at the Open Day for a chat.
29th Annual Western Tournament – Sunday 21st June 2026 – more details to follow. Please note that the Western Tournament will not be an AGB event but will be covered by Protectivity Insurance.
Firle Fete – Monday 31st August 2026 (1pm-4pm)
2025 Events:
FIRLE FETE 2025: Thank you to everyone who came and supported us at the Firle Fete on August Bank Holiday Monday! We raised approx £360, which was split equally between the Firle Community Group and Newhaven Archery Club. Our half of the money will go back into updating our have-a-go equipment ready for next year 🙂
Beginner’s Safety Course – Entries for this session have now closed. If you have missed this event, please check out other clubs in the area as they all run their own courses – you can always join us after!

Taster sessions: we are sorry to inform you that we are unable to run our very popular taster sessions this year. Please check in with our friends over at Plumpton Archery Club who hold monthly have-a-goes at their outdoor site (summer season only).
Open Day: – Thank you to everyone who enjoyed our Open Day – in the wonderful sunshine – on Saturday 26th April 2025 (1-4pm). Fingers crossed we’ll be hosting another Open Day event next year, but in the meantime, you may be able to catch us at the Firle Fete on August Bank Holiday Monday 🙂

Tuning Workshop Catch up session – Saturday 31st August 2024 (10am-12noon):
For anyone who attended the Barebow/Recurve Tuning Workshops, you are welcome to attend a free session on the above date. This would be especially helpful for anyone who wants to double check their bow tuning has been done correctly, clarify hastily scribbled notes, or have any further questions. Archery partners/family are welcome to join in.
This session will be hosted by Sue and David Habgood of Martlet’s Guild of Archery.
Recurve tuning workshop – Saturday 10th August 2024: Thank you to everyone who attended. There was a lot of information thrown at the attendees! Many thanks to Keith Billeness of Martlet’s Guild of Archery for running both events – we look forward to inviting you back for an arrow tuning workshop 🙂
Barebow tuning workshop – Sunday 23rd June 2024: Thank you to everyone who attended this session! According to feedback it was very well received and lots of information was shared. Everyone got some individual bow attention and we all have things that we can work on to help improve our archery 🙂
