Covid-19 Update

Following the advice of Archery GB, who released a statement yesterday afternoon, the committee have made the following decisions:

  • all Indoor sessions at Seahaven Academy have been cancelled with immediate effect.
  • all calendared events for April have been suspended. This includes events at Firle and Ron’s Wood. Further dates will be reviewed toward the end of April.
  • the Open Afternoon and following Beginner’s courses have been postponed until further review in May.
  • entries for the Western Tournament will remain open and will be reviewed in May. In the event of cancellation, all entry fees will be returned.
  • the field will remain open for users; however, we ask that members be aware of the risks of exposure and follow government advice on how to stay safe. If you present with any of the symptoms and are self-isolating, please do not use the field to protect those who may be vulnerable.

Newhaven Archery club is a thriving and friendly archery club in East Sussex.

We have our own outdoor shooting range at Firle near Lewes, and we shoot indoors at Seahaven Academy in Newhaven during the winter.

The club has a diverse membership who come from as far afield as Brighton, Uckfield and Eastbourne.

The club’s stated aim is the promotion of archery in all its forms and our members enjoy a wide variety of shooting styles.

We have an active membership of over 100 archers who enjoy a variety of shooting and social activities throughout the year. These include target archery, field and wood shoots, social events and fun shoots. We also have an active junior club that have their own calendar of events.

Our main club sessions are Friday evening and Sunday afternoon, with the Juniors on Wednesday evenings but, as we have exclusive access to our own outdoor range, members are free to shoot whenever they wish.
